EBAC – electrical brake actuation controller
The electrical brake actuation controller, or EBAC, is an electronic control unit designed and produced by Hispano-Suiza. It controls the Boeing 787’s electric brakes, produced by fellow Safran company Messier-Bugatti.

The electric brake by Messier-Bugatti is a world first on a commercial airplane. This type of brake gives airlines a host of advantages, including lower overall weight and operating costs, plus greater robustness. The electric braking system has already been chosen by a large number of operators who have ordered the Boeing 787. Four EBAC units are installed on each plane, to control the braking of the eight wheels in the main landing gear.
