Cutting-edge power transmissions for the M88-2-powered Rafale

Building on our long experience with military engines, Hispano-Suiza designs, develops and produces the power transmission system for the Snecma M88-2 engine, and the accessory gearbox for the Rafale multirole fighter built by Dassault Aviation.

This sophisticated assembly, entirely designed, developed and produced by Hispano-Suiza, comprises two main drives:
- Engine-mounted accessory drive, which includes the main hydromechanical unit, afterburner hydromechanical unit and lubrication unit.
- Aircraft-mounted accessory drive, which drives the power generation equipment.

These two units are connected by a flexible driveshaft operating at very high speed. Fitted with flex-strips, the Hispano-Suiza driveshaft offers unexcelled damage tolerance and fatigue resistance.
