More than 20,000 CFM56 power transmissions in service
Hispano-Suiza is the legacy power transmission partner for the entire family of CFM56 engines, produced by Snecma and GE via CFM International. We design and produce the accessory gearboxes (AGB) for the CFM56-3, CFM56-5A/5B/5C and CFM56-7/7B, totaling more than 20,000 power transmissions in service.

The first accessory gearbox for a CFM56 engine was developed in 1979. Since then, these power transmissions have logged more than 450 million flight-hours on all CFM56 engine models. They are used on today’s two best selling jetliners, outfitting all Boeing Next-Generation 737s and Boeing Business Jets, and more than half of all Airbus A318, A319, A320 and A321 twinjets, as well as the Airbus A340 long-haul quadjet.
Hispano-Suiza’s CFM56 power transmissions are recognized for their reliability and performance, based on the continuous improvement of all constituent components. Building on these solid foundations, we are taking an active role in meeting tomorrow’s technological challenges as well.
Looking further ahead, towards 2020, we are working on innovative new power transmission systems that will be ready when the next generation of Airbus and Boeing single-aisle jets take to the skies.
